Young adults and teens are under an enormous amount of pressure. They may look fine on the outside or they may show visible symptoms of stress, such as eating and sleeping changes, anxiety, indecision, lack of motivation, etc. The expectations they put on themselves and feel from others weigh heavy on their minds. As a parent of three young adult daughters myself, and a counselor of adolescents as well as college students for over 20 years, I am aware that most parents wish and feel their kids could come to them with anything that is troubling them. But they often don’t. They are often worried about disappointing someone or feeling judged. This is where a life coach can help!
Life Coaching helps young people become more self-confident, motivated and have a purpose driven life. Together, we will focus on the present and the future. My work as a life coach is first to form a trusting relationship with my client and make sure we are a good fit! As a young adult, let me see where you are, what you feel is in your way and the steps you need to take in order to attain your goals. This is something we will put in place and is individualized for you. While I am a trained counselor, life coaching offers something different for you in that I am guiding you to become unstuck to become the best version of yourself. I want you to see the strengths that I will see in you. Let’s see where you are now and how to get you to where you want to be.
I love working with adolescents and young adults. I believe it is what I am meant to do in this world of ours, which has gotten more stressful and confusing in recent years.
Wondering what your “purpose” is and getting lost in thought (overthinking!), mindlessly scrolling on your phone are not helpful activities. Sure, they can be distracting but not in an energizing way. Little by little, I will learn more about you and what excites and interests you. You may think it is something so tiny or insignificant. It’s probably not! “You can’t start a fire without a spark,” Remember that a goal without a plan is just a wish. I look forward to helping you create that plan and turn it into action.
